My Journey Story Banner

I was just a little eight-year-old when my parents made the difficult decision to send me away from home. The schools in our city weren't that good, and my parents wanted nothing but the best for me. It was a tough choice, but my father loves me so much and I knew he’d only want the best for me. He worked tirelessly, sacrificing his comforts to ensure I didn't miss out on anything.

My parents have always been my strength. I have always felt a deep desire to fulfill their dreams, and to make them proud. As I completed my school, I was confused. What path should I choose for my future? Then, my father presented me with an option - to become a Chartered Accountant.

My father, ever so loving and understanding, never imposes his wishes on me. But deep down, I knew that seeing me become a successful Chartered Accountant was his dream. And so, naturally, his dream became mine. I studied hard and cleared the CA foundation exam with determination and hope.

However, just when I was about to begin my CA intermediate studies, a dark cloud descended upon our lives. My father fainted and fell, resulting in a skull fracture. My world shattered into a million pieces. The pain of seeing my father in such a vulnerable state was unbearable. I tried to push through, to continue my studies, but the trauma haunted me relentlessly.

While my father recovered by the grace of God, the impact of that incident stayed with me for an entire year. I went into depression and could no longer focus, understand, or remember things. Despite my best efforts, I had no choice but to let go of my dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant. I had to take a step back and take a drop year.

During that year of reflection and healing, I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I left my home and did an internship at a CA firm. I love being independent. Even though my parents were and always are more than willing to support me financially, I wanted to be on my own. And that’s how I started writing.

The writing world became an outlet for my emotions, a medium that helped me pour my heart out, and a way that gave me a sense of independence. As my drop year came to an end, I decided to pursue my master's (MBA), nurturing both my love for learning and passion for writing.

I’ve realized that my dreams are not limited to a single path. I am determined to forge my own destiny, to create the life I want. My journey may have been filled with challenges, but it is those challenges that have shaped me into the person I am today—a person ready to embrace the future with open arms and do the best to be the best she can be.
